My Career in Event Planning started in 1992 working for one of Hollywood's most sought after Celebrity Chefs, helping her run her catering and private cooking business for Entertainment's elite (Ala Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand). It was fantastic. We catered to the "A-list's" private Oscar parties, on location, at Magazine photo shoots, at studios, and movie premieres. I learned a lot about great food, working with talent and of course, the inner workings for throwing a great party. With a series of other amazing opportunities working in the Entertainment Industry for such legendary Moguls as the Late Brandon Tartikoff (Former Chairman of NBC, Paramount, New World Entertainment and more) and Peter Morton (Co-Creator of Hard Rock Cafe and Owner of the Hard Rock Hotel), I worked in various roles, but always on the forefront of a great splashy event. I soon took the leap of faith and left the Hollywood Corporate World to create an independent mark with my own Event Production Company, DD/Q Productions. Within a very short time, I was in production on Awards Shows and Charity Galas. I further branched out and began the "social" side of my business. Soon I was busy (very busy) working on Weddings, Anniversaries, Birthday Bashes and even Memorial Dedications. Now with a true understanding of giving Corporate Sponsors their branding and key positioning through my events, I soon become a leader in the Event Production and Sponsorship Development/Strategic Alliance arenas working with well known National and International Corporations. Took some time off, started a beautiful family, and moved to New Mexico. I thought I was retired when I moved to the "Land of Enchantment." But the lure and excitement of Producing Weddings and Events in such an amazingly beautiful state was too hard to pass up. Besides, I was presented offers to great projects and wonderful bridal couples I couldn't refuse. Thus Starlight Event Design was born. If you know our New Mexico Skies, you know about our stars. If you know the wish of "Starlight, Starbright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight," then you'd see that I chose that name for both my love of NM skies and for my love of working to bring wishes and dreams to reality for my clients here, Los Angeles or wherever your favorite location may be in the world." I am thrilled to have a great team at SED. We're accustomed to traveling to locales, working in a completely "raw" space that needs to be converted into a venue or coordinating at the many locations that already exist for your special day.
